When questioned at an American Travel Marketing Executives conference in Las Vegas last May, “show up at an airport and pay in cash” is exactly what you are supposed to do, in order to avoid the convenience fee, according Ponder Harrison, Allegiant’s Managing Director – Sales & Marketing at the time.

Harrison, who gave a good-humored and fascinating talk about Allegiant’s marketing strategies and tactics. claimed customers in the smaller cities Allegiant typically serves love to discuss their travel plans with a real person.

That did not go over very well!
