The Philly Essential Guide iPhone app: Now Available for iPad!

by Chris on December 13, 2010

The latest version of my Philadelphia iPhone app is now available on iPad – and it’s still only $2.99. What are you waiting for? #whyIlovePhilly

Just in case you’re getting some new electronic gear for the holidays – My Philadelphia  iPhone app is now available on the iPad!

The updated version includes a full section dedicated to Philly sports, because we all know how manic the City of Brotherly Love gets about its teams. You’ll find info about the Eagles, the Phillies, the Flyers and a few lesser known teams (Philly Roller Girls, anyone?), as well as some great bars to watch the game.

Version 1.1 also includes new features added by Sutro Media, such as a full text search bar, side menus, full screen photos – and much more. You can leave comments or recommendations for other travelers.

And it’s still only $2.99.

But what I’m most excited about is that you can see all of the gorgeous Philly photos that I took at a much larger resolution, if you download it to your iPad! The map interface designed by Sutro is also much easier to use and read in this latest edition. So you’ll be able to plan your trip to Philly ahead of time, then use the app on the streets once you get there.

I have a few copies of the app that I can give out for free. If you’d like to test out the new version of the iPhone/iPad app, tell me about your favorite Philly sight, attraction or restaurant in the comments. The first 10 commenters will get a code to download the app for free.

(If you’ve already bought the app, you can update it for free by going to the iTunes store).

I’ve been working overseas for 15 years (with the US Military), and I really miss Geno’s Steaks. Whenever we are on the east coast, we head to town and grab some. I’d like to test out the app next time I am in town.

I’m not eligible because I don’t have an iPhone or iPad, but I LOVE this. I’m going to Philly for new year’s too! I plan on going to North3rd.

North 3rd is one of my favorite bar/restaurants. It’s more of a gastro pub type. Our contractor did most of the work there – it reminds me of the hip joints in New Orleans with all the funky wall decorations.

Susan – I love N. 3rd…..and it’s in the app! 🙂

I’m writing an article on the Best Phily Apps. I wanted to test out the app. My favorite Philly sight so far is Rittenhouse Square. Brings all kinds of people to the park.

@Cindy I just sent you an email with the promo code. I’d love to be included in your article. Let me know if you have any questions!
