Photo Friday: Maroon Bells pictures, one great shot typical of Aspen photography

Aspen photography, Maroon Bells picture

Our Photo Friday this week comes from Aspen, Colorado – home of the famed Maroon Bells. In a town that’s surrounded by gorgeous mountains, the Maroon Bells stand out for their height (both are over 14,000 foot) and their instability (the mountains are also called the Deadly Bells because so many people have died climbing them).

Congratulations. I love the angle that you used for this shot.

The Maroon Bells Wilderness is a spectacular area and even though it tends to have a commercialized feel, we never tire of the views. Even our kids are lucky enough to go on field trips up to the surrounding lakes.

Thanks, Jillian! Aspen is such a gorgeous place to visit – the Maroon Bells are just one of the fabulous views that you have out there! 🙂

Oooh we’re going to Colorado to ski this month, then back through in the summer months on a road trip when it’s all green and lush in vegetation. Wish we could swing a side jaunt to Aspen!

@Kristin – Colorado is a great state for a road trip! My family drove out there a couple times when I was a kid. I’m a snow wuss so I always go when it’s green.
