Cruising Carnival, Magic-Style: Photos of Rome
Europe, Italy — By Don Faust on June 26, 2011 at 2:44 am
Rome is one of my favorite cities – miles of black cobblestone streets winding through burnt orange and red aged stucco buildings, endless options for pizza, pasta, gelato, and plenty of people walking the streets, touring the historical areas and dining outside.
After completing a Carnival Magic cruise in the Mediterranean, I discovered on my departure day that my flight had been canceled due to mechnical failures. I took the opportunity to spend a day revisiting central Rome, and take some photos. I skipped many of the tourist sites I have seen previously (with the exception of Chris’ favorite building, the Pantheon), and focused on mostly street scenes.

Carnival cruise line sponsored this trip.

Talented photos. Loving the vibrant colors and different Rome perspective.
Great selection of photos and styles. Love them as always!
So many memories these photos brought back. I lived in Rome for seven years, sometimes I do miss it seeing art around every corner.
Thanks everyone. It’s very hard for me not to like Rome, especially from a photo angle, with vibrant colors all around.
I would love to visit Rome someday. Thanks so much for the photo journey. This was wonderful and the photos were exceptional. Cheers!! Jenn.
I think you’ve done a good job in capturing the essence of Italy in these pictures – classic and full of old world charm. I especially love the photo of the accordion player man. Rome, an obviously lovely city!
A very interesting selection! Never been to Rome – but I’m sure I’ll visit it one day
