Photo Friday: Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress

by Chris on June 1, 2012

Photo Friday: In honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, this week’s theme is “Fit for a Queen.” We chose afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress, Victoria, British Columbia.

This is the latest of our weekly travel photo series, inspired by #FriFotos on Twitter.

In honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, this week’s #FriFoto theme is “Fit for a Queen.” I’ve been in Canada for over a week now, writing stories and exploring the far North. My time here has reminded me how much I love our neighbor to the north, and how it’s such an underutilized vacation spot for Americans. This photo was taken at the Christmas afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress, in Victoria, British Columbia, where Don and I spent the holidays in 2010. I’m sure Queen Elizabeth would approve.

I am a high tea addict! Although my weakness is the sammies with the crusts cut off.
