A geography of extremes, Death Valley contains mountains, canyons, salt flats, sand dunes, and pictured above, Devil’s Golf Course. This moon crater-like landscape contains delicate formations of mud and salt deposits that have expanded and contracted in the desert’s heat.

I went to Death Valley with my husband, my sister and my sister’s boyfriend last February – on Valentine’s Day! While Death Valley may not sound like the most romantic place on Earth, we enjoyed the park’s natural wonders and desolate beauty. I would definitely love to return and explore more sometime.
